Making afternoon tea

Last week we helped to make our own afternoon tea. We gathered to watch the pop corn machine turn corn kernels into pop corn, it was noisy and hot. Next we washed our hands to spread margarine then jam onto bread for our sandwiches. Lastly we watched Jessie cut oranges from our orange tree to eat also. 'Children are helped to develop personal health through good hygiene and healthy diet'. - Te Whaariki. The children listened to the instruction of 'just look at it (the pop corn machine) as it is very hot', we also all held a few corn kernels to feel how small and hard they where. Everyone took turns to use knives and plates for the bread, and our afternoon tea was YUMMY! Jessie

Joaquin looks so professional jamming that bread up. Maybe its time to bring out the step chair so i can have a little helper to make the lunches in the morning?

Yeah, wouldn't that be nice for you Karla:).
Great way to encourage these self-help skills at KIDSPACE and home.
