Rainy days

At the start of the week it rained and rained then rained some more. So we stayed inside to play and learn. Our new DUPLO was a big hit, we built, took turns and shared the vehicles and people in the art room and upstairs. "Working together helps children develop confidence in their ability to develop relationships with others"- Well-Being, Te Whaariki.

We had story books inside, we experienced new story book characters and enjoyed looking and listening to our favourites again. "The centre programme provides toddlers with widening experiences of the world through a range of books"- Belonging, Te Whaariki.

We had an obstacle course with slide, hula hoops, plank and soft mat in the art room. Some children learnt to roly poly. "In exploring the phsical environment, children gain increased motor and manipulative control and skill"- Exploration, Te Whaariki.
