Dinner Time Ideas.....Or Lack of!!!!

Is deciding what to eat for dinner a bit of a nightmare in your house????
It sure is in mine!

By the time I have worked all day and get home to a house full of people who all want my attention at once, it can often be just another chore to try and decide what to cook for dinner.
I wondered whether we could start a 'meal sharing' board/post? It would be great to have recipes and ideas that are used by other families. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of this idea. Thanks (Sarah)

I sometimes have a complete mind blank at dinnertime, so i have now started a dinner timetable/ menu, it helps me minimise over spending at the supermarket too and the kids get some input.

The 2 biggest favourites are Lasagne (Joaquins) and anything Filo Wrapped Fish (Ruby).

I always add grated carrot, pumpkin maybe zuccini and chopped leeks to the meat sauce and instead of a layer of cheese sauce i just put a little grated cheese on each layer then on the top i beat 3 eggs with some milk and grated cheese and pour over the top. 40mins or so in the oven (leaving time for baths and homework or whatever) let sit for 10 mins then serve i like mine with some salad but there are enuf vege in the dish otherwise.
Those watties Pasta sauces are a god send tasty and cheap i put 2 cans into it.
Joaquin also gets to take some left overs for lunch the next day.

Rubys favourite is even easier! Those heart tick crumbed fish fillets cooked in oven then wrapped in filo with some cheese and grated vege mixed with pasta sauce (so good for disguising vege)in oven til crispy.

hope those are of help cant wait to see eveyone elses ideas!

You can't go wrong with a Salad, meat and potatoes, if the kids get the potatoes peeled, I remember to pull out chops, steak or chicken pieces to defrost, its really quite easy. Pasta Meals are good, boil the pasta add the sauce any meat or without, add a salad walla!

Then theres the good old fashion boil up
cuck evrything in the pot meat, potatoes, cabbage or watercress
let it boil then eat! yummy
