Literacy learning continues

Paige, Donnagh, Kian, Libby and Keita make their own marks on the whiteboard with markers. They take turns, returning the lids to their makers once finished, they compare and watch each others drawing and marks and discuss shapes, letters and names.
Literacy can happen outside or on the spot, using the moment for inspiration and re-introducing and repeating this again and again to children.
"Children develop familiarity with print and its uses by exploring and observing the use of print in activities that have meaning and purpose for children", Communication, Te Whaariki.
