What do you think of this blog?

This is the third and final year of our ICT action research project of which setting up this blog is the last cycle. Below is an outline of our research question and the indicators we have developed. We would be very grateful to get your feedback on what you think of the blog and whether any of these indicators are relevant to you.

Research Question: In what ways will we enhance our partnerships with whānau using I.C.T?
Sub Question: What impact will developing a KIDSPACE blog have on enhancing our partnerships with whanau?

INDICATORS - we hope that the blog will promote:
1. Conversations with whanau about learning experiences at KIDSPACE
2. Whanau sharing experiences at home
3. FEEDBACK from whanau responding verbally or commenting on the blog to the learning and information the teachers have shared on the blog and from children giving feedback from having accessed the blog with whanau
4. Connecting with whanau who are not regular visitors to KIDSPACE
5. Teachers gain a greater understanding of children’s interests and strengths
6. Parental leave teachers stay connected with KIDSPACE happenings

Hope I have given you a few things to think about! Great Idea having the blog! Suggestion to have the web address all over kidsapce to remind parents to look! And like the idea of being able to look when we pick kids up too!

Would be good if you could type your childs name in the search engine and have photos of your child come up!

Thanks for your feedback Katrina - it was very exciting getting all this mail! We would love to have the photos for individual families to be able to access their own child's folder so perhaps that might be the next cycle once we have this blog underway. At present it is beyond our ICT skills but then a year ago we couldn't have managed this blog (in fact hardly new what one was!).

Corbin was really excited to see himself in KIDSPACE photo's on the computer at home. He laughed and laughed and showed his Dad, brother and sisters.

The little notes with the photos are great in the pockets! Triggers you to go onto the blog.

Are we able to copy the photos onto our computers? If so how is this done.

This is a really good way of an alternative to communicationing some times we are in a hurry to get to work or to other kids, but this we can be on the computer at home & at work! Of course I'm never at work making comments on this Blog NO..........
